Description

The 2009 Junchang Hao Ripe Pu-erh is the more mature, more complete expression of this series, as extra years of ageing have rounded every edge and deepened the flavour into a darker, more layered sweetness.

It was crafted from an uncommon fusion of scarce ancient-tree material from two respected regions, Menghai for depth and structure, and Fengqing in Lincang for natural sweetness, using quality leaves that add to both its appearance and performance.

The cake displays plenty of visible golden buds, and it brews a clear, glowing red-brown liquor that stays bright even as it grows richer through the session. The aroma is deeply integrated, showing aged fragrance, dark honey, dried date, and polished wood, with a quiet warmth that suggests cocoa rather than earth. On the palate it is dense and velvety, coating the mouth with a calm, syrup-like sweetness, and a soft, rounded depth that only comes with time. The finish is long and clean, with a refined lingering sweetness and an elegant aged perfume that returns after each sip.

Brewing Guide

Use 5-10g of tea and a 100-150ml gaiwan or small teapot.

Water temperature should be at ~100°C.

Rinse the leaves once before the first infusion.
5-10s for the first steep, a few seconds longer for each subsequent steep.

Storage

Pu-erh is alive and continues to evolve over time. Store your tea in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated space, away from direct sunlight and strong odours. Avoid sealed containers—Pu-erh benefits from gentle airflow. Over the years, its flavour will deepen and mature naturally, rewarding patience and proper care.
